Sasha Ferreira Concert



Sasha began his violin studies in Havana, Cuba. While there, he won first prize for the best interpretation of the Cuban music in the regional and national “Amadeo Roldán” violin competition, the most prestigious Cuban violin competition. He continued his studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Lima, Peru, graduating with honors in 1997.  Recently, Sasha finished recording “Cuban Music…with a Violin Touch,” his second compact disc as a soloist. Along with his performance career, he taught for many years at Markham College and the National Conservatory of Music in Lima, Peru.

Sasha moved to the United States in 2007 and became an American citizen in May of 2013. He obtained his Master of Music degree in violin performance at the University of Southern Mississippi. In 2012, Sasha earned his Doctoral degree in violin and viola performance from The University of Georgia. Sasha is currently a faculty member of the Winter School of Music at William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and teaches at the Gulfport School District in Gulfport, Mississippi. He regularly performs as a soloist as well as with the Mobile Symphony Orchestra and the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra.
